Rest In Peace, Mark Fire Thunder

Such a strange thing, to see a person one day, apparently fine, and the next, hear that they have passed on.
An eagle was seen circling the Indian Center on Monday; Tuesday morning, Lillian Fire Thunder woke to find her husband forever sleeping. Her first telephone call upon this revelation was not to 911, but to the Indian Center.Just one of many examples of the Indian Center's importance to Native Americans in our community.

I know Lilian...well not personally but she had storage at Stephens and Smith where I worked. Is she alright?--Edie

Thank You, Mason

Funny how I am addressing this post to someone who has never, to date, looked at this page.
Invariably, it is necessary that I use this space, as it is highly available, to thank him for the washer and dryer which he bought for me (us, as in my little family living in this house, which includes myself as well as Mira and Torrin but not Mason himself).
I've had a couple of inquiries as to Why Mason is being nice. Well, I don't know, but I certainly won't question it until given cause to wonder.

Hey, that´s cool! I know how much having laudry facilities in-house helps--especially you with 2 youngsters! That sucks about your class. I guess there´s always next quarter. Maybe the schedule will be better, too. Anyway, I thought I´d pop you comment cherry and say HI!!! --Edie

Ahh, The Sweet Scent of Failure...

Well, really, there's nothing sweet about it.
What happened is this: I had to drop my Anatomy class.
Torrin (and Mira, to a lesser degree) was sick all week two weeks ago. He missed three days of school, and should have missed all five, had he not had a dose of Ibuprofen before going. On one of his miserable days, when Mira was also not so hot, I had a really rough time getting everyone out of the door early enough. End result: I was 12 minutes late to class. Well, they were already done with the quiz. You can't miss any quizzes. If you do, they take your lowest score and use it twice.
And of course, the quiz before that had been really rotten for me (another crappy story...we had gone over three chapters the week before, and I studied the two later ones, only to find out when I got to class that the quiz didn't mention any of what I had studied). Sooooo...even though lab is worth only 30% of the grade, I didn't want to bog down my class grade with a cruddy lab grade. I feel pretty stupid about the whole thing. But I guess it's a chance to get a different lab instructor next time...I really didn't like the guy I had anyway.
